About 4Dev tools
Text and data conversions run on the 4Dev server: your data is converted in memory and sent straight back, it is not stored, and each request is limited to 5 MB. Image, video and audio converters work entirely in your browser, so those files never leave your device.
Every converter has its own page with a worked example, answers to common questions and links to related tools. If you are not sure where to start, open the data converter: it reads 19 input formats in one place and can detect the format of pasted text for you.
The password, UUID and random string generators use your browser's cryptographic random number generator, and the password strength checker runs entirely in the browser, so what you type is never sent anywhere. Each tool page explains what the tool does, shows an example and answers common questions.
