What the URL Parser does
The URL Parser splits a web address into its parts: protocol, host, port, path, hash (the fragment after #) and every query parameter as a separate key and value. Paste a long link and the breakdown appears as you type. Percent-encoded values are decoded, so q=usb+c+cable is shown as usb c cable.
Parsing uses the browser's standard URL class, the same one that fetch and web servers follow, so the result matches how browsers really read the address. The URL must include its scheme, such as https://. When no port is given, the default for the scheme is used (443 for HTTPS, 80 for HTTP) and shown as (default).
When to use it
- Reading the UTM parameters of a marketing link or an ad click.
- Debugging a redirect or OAuth callback URL with many encoded parameters.
- Checking which query parameters a page receives before writing routing code.
- Spotting tracking parameters to remove before sharing a link.

Output
Protocol: https

Why do I get "Invalid URL"?
The address must include a scheme. example.com/page is a relative path to a parser; write https://example.com/page instead.
How are repeated parameters shown?
Each occurrence is listed on its own line. ?tag=a&tag=b shows tag twice, in order, which is how most web frameworks receive it as a list.
Is the hash sent to the server?
No. The part after # stays in the browser and is used for in-page anchors and client-side routing. Servers only see the path and the query string.
How do I encode a value to put into a URL?
Use the URL Encoder tool for a single value, or URL Decoder to read an encoded one. Spaces become %20 (or + inside a query string).
