What the Time Zone Converter does
The Time Zone Converter shows what a date and time in one zone is in 17 zones around the world, UTC included, from Los Angeles and New York through London, Berlin and Jerusalem to Kolkata, Tokyo, Sydney and Auckland. Pick the source zone and the date and time, or press Now for the current moment. The source zone is highlighted in the list.
Conversions use the IANA time zone database built into your browser, so daylight saving time is applied for the exact date you choose. That matters around the changeover weeks: in mid-March 2026 the United States has already moved its clocks forward but Europe has not, so New York is 4 hours behind London instead of the usual 5.
When to use it
- Scheduling a meeting with colleagues or customers in several countries.
- Converting a release time, a webinar or a maintenance window announced in UTC.
- Checking the local time in a log entry reported from a server in another region.
- Planning calls around daylight saving changes in different countries.

Why is the difference between two cities not always the same?
Countries switch to daylight saving time on different dates, and some, such as India and Japan, do not use it at all. The converter uses the rules for the exact date, so it shows the real difference on that day.
Why is India 30 minutes off from other zones?
India uses a single zone at UTC+5:30. A few other regions also use half-hour or 45-minute offsets, such as Newfoundland (UTC-3:30) and Nepal (UTC+5:45).
Should I store times in UTC?
Yes, for servers and databases. Store the UTC instant (or a Unix timestamp, see the Unix Timestamp to Date Converter converter) and convert to the user's zone only when displaying it.
My city is not in the list. What should I do?
Choose a city in the same zone, for example Europe/Paris for Madrid or Rome, or Asia/Shanghai for Singapore. The list covers the most common zones rather than every city.
