What the Lorem Ipsum Generator does
The Lorem Ipsum Generator produces placeholder text in the classic pseudo-Latin style. Choose how many paragraphs, sentences or words you want, from 1 to 50, and press Generate. Sentences are 6 to 15 words long and start with a capital letter; paragraphs contain 3 to 6 sentences and are separated by a blank line.
The words come from the traditional lorem ipsum passage, which is scrambled Latin from Cicero's *De finibus bonorum et malorum*. Because it looks like real text but cannot be read, it shows how a layout handles line length, wrapping and density without distracting reviewers with the content. Each click gives a new random selection.
When to use it
- Filling a wireframe or a mock-up before the real copy is written.

Why does every click give different text?
Words are chosen at random each time, so the output never repeats exactly. That is useful for seeding test data, because rows do not all look the same.
Does the text start with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"?
No, it is built from random words of the passage. If a design needs the famous opening, type those five words at the start of the first paragraph.
Is lorem ipsum bad for SEO?
It is fine in designs and staging sites, but never publish it. Search engines see it as thin or unfinished content. Search your templates for lorem before launch.
How many words should a test paragraph have?
